It's been an interesting week back. I really just wanted to see if I was still interested in restarting a toon and thankfully, I am (WoW was that ... lame...)

Found a buyer for my alexandrites and he's server hopping to pick them all up. I wasn't sure about selling them (the completionist in me is just being stabbed over and over...) but seeing as how 100K Ampoules, Cerb/Khim trophies, 150K Nyzul Tokens, All necessary Titles. and a Runic Key were lost. It seems that having the 30K Alexandrites at this juncture is more or less a ... moot point.

So this opens a few doors. One of which, obviously, is a relic. Now I won't say anything definitively, but the thought has crossed my mind several times, all depends on how things go.

Went with RDM as my starter job and zoomed to 20 over the course of like 10 hours game time. Some interesting notes are that FoV, while slow for the hardcore gamer looking to zerg levels, is quite nice for the casual gamer. Low level HQ gear is stupid expensive now (food for thought when I get my new toon into crafting which will be soon.)

On the note of crafting. I think it's a no brainer what's going to be leveled.

Level 03 Carrot Juice - Water crystal, sandy carrot x4
Level 10 Orange Juice - Water Crystal, saruta orange x4
Level 15 Sliced Bluetail - Wind Crystal, Bluetail
Level 20 Selbina Butter - Ice Crystal, Selbina Milk, Rock Salt
Level 29 Insect Ball - Earth Crystal, Distilled Water, Little Worm, Millioncorn
Level 34 Iron Bread - Fire Crystal. Rock Salt, Distilled Water, Sandy Flour
Level 34 Black Bread - Fire Crystal, Rock Salt, Distilled Water, Rye Flour
Level 40 Melon Juice - Water Crystal, Thundermelon, Watermelon
Level 45 Fish Broth - Water Crystal, Bluetail x2
Level 50 Grape Juice - Dark Crystal, Sandy Grape x4
Level 55 Beaugreen Sautee - Water Crystal, Beaugreens, Selbina Butter
Level 60 Yagudo Drink - Dark Crystal, Buburimu Grape x3, Yagudo Cherry
Level 67 Raisin Bread - Fire Crystak, Distilled Water, Maple Sugar, Rock Salt, Sandy Flour, Sandy Grape, Selbina Butter
Level 70 Squid Sushi - Earth Crystal, Gigant Squid, Ground Wasabi, Distilled Water, Rice Vinegar, Tarutaru Rice
Level 77 Tuna Sushi - Earth Crystal, Gugru Tuna, Ground Wasabi, Distilled Water, Rice Vinegar, Tarutaru Rice
Level 84 Sole Sushi - Earth Crystal, Black Sole, Ground Wasabi, Distilled Water, Rice Vinegar, Tarutaru Rice
Level 90 Vampire Juice - Water Crystal, Red Terrapin, Faerie Apple, Mithran Tomato, Rolanberry
Level 93 Dorado Sushi - Earth Crystal, Noble Lady, Ground Wasabi, Distilled Water, Rice Vinegar, Tarutaru Rice
Level 99 Sweet Rice Cake - Fire Crystal, Cinnamon, Distilled Water, Fresh Mugwort, Gardenia Seed, Maple Sugar, Sticky Rice

Worked well before and looking at the list, I foresee being 100 within a few weeks. Just a matter of finding the time to fish. Thankfully my mule account wasn't affected and he was my "waiting for dynamis/limbus/salvage/whatever-cause-nothing-ever-starts-on-time" fisherman. Also he thankfully has 30M in level 20+ gear for any job you can think of. So I'm pretty much set if I want to level anything.

Got RDM to 20 entirely solo and with help from Pinopei, got my Sub Job quest knocked out in no time.

Got to Jeuno, quested my Choco License and did the Qufim OP (right before conquest update too =D ). So while the things I need to get done in order to get back to where I was are certainly insurmountable in total, I am slowly chipping away at the mountain, hoping to carve into a hill.

I even ran into my first NM while leveling in Ronfaure.

I had been saving this job to be one of my very last to level for the simple reason that I knew I would thoroughly enjoy it. And I did. Thoroughly.

It started back up at 39 and steamrolled to 75 17 days later. By and far the fastest I have ever leveled a job. Many thanks to the Colibris of East Ronfaure[s] cause they provided levels 40-62 in 14 hours of PTing done over the course of 2 days. Absolutely absurd. Was a matter of just spamming ToAU birds and Imps to get to 71 where SML graciously tossed me a leech spot last night and I dinged 75 in a matter of 4 hours.

and if you haven't noticed by the aspect ratio, I picked up a new monitor yesterday. 28" of smexy all for the low low price of $289. I simply couldn't pass it up.

So it's been a busy last two weeks and of particular note was SWLs first 'low-man' Odin. We took 20 in but 1 was a d-boxed naked feather mule and the other was a d-boxed WHM for backup cures. So in total 18 players took down Odin with very little issues (a few more deaths than usual, but those are the breaks) and 5 minutes remaining.

and we scored our fourth E.Body which was nice to see for Chapstick. Grats again.

Looking to expand upon exploring the parts of vanadiel that are usually looked over or empty for the most part, I asked Chi if he and his wife would be game to do some Promy Map runs and also get some Stone Gorgets. Both were very interested in the prospect and we grabbed 4 other friends and went about taking down all the NMs in all the different Promy zones and then went to Vhazl and popped the Stone Gorget NM with one of the pops from Promy Dem NM. Ended up going 1/2 on him and Phoenise, Chi's wife, got that while Chi and I snagged the maps. Coincidentally, Chi and I discovered that you can, in fact, trade the memosphere to the ??? at the same time and BOTH get the map. Instead of having to wait tof rthe ??? to repop and then go searching for it again...

So we're gonna static these on Tuesday nights till we get all the maps and Gorgets our hearts desire. I only need Mea to complete my map collection (I am serious, every single map in game. Including Sacrarium and other bitchly ones to get.) But if we were only doing this for the NM fights alone, it'd be worth it. It's these parts of Vana'diel that I like the most. The obscure parts that are rarely explored because "there's no point/title/reward involved"

Arisen's Limbus has been seeing some VERY stellar drops as of late and that's been moving us closer and closer to being able to sell worthwhile pieces (Legs Hands and Feet for the most part) Our last Omega dropped legs and Body and Ultime last night dropped legs.

and speaking of making money, Chi Turin and my ENM static on Friday nights has seen 3 Haguns in the last 5 runs now (last 2 being back to back) and that's been a VERY welcome addition to the dwindling gil bank (I keep telling myself that being the first on server with 2 relics and a mythic will be worth it lol)

Oddly, though, each time we've seen a Hagun, I've been the killshot. I make it rain Haguns.

SML also got together to do the 'new' Mercenary Camp BCNM that they added in the December patch as a part of the Serpent Generals quest line (if you have not done these you are SERIOUSLY missing out. By and far one of the most in depth quests as far as character/plot development. You will NOT be disappointed by these if you like a good story.) Previously this BCNM was only available to people who attended fanfest in Cali/Tokyo.

That about wraps things up as far as events are concerned (although I did leave out that we did a Dyna-Sandy 2 weeks back after a shell ganked Windy from us. So we went and ganked Sandy from Rasputen's crew and we walked out with over 800 bronze lol!) So I levea you all with random screenshots I found amusing.

it's not every day you see an army of tarus invade Sandy

the last one had warped at 5%, that wasn't gonna happen again...

thought this was kinda funny looking. Like all the Ameretats had gotten tangled up. I giggled while running past that.

I am desparate to use these. If your LS will merc Early Bird Gets the Wyrm and allow me to have a Speed Belt should one drop, I'd gladly give all other items (regardless of drop) to the LS for their time. I can't seem to get rid of these fast enough...

and that's all for this installment kiddies.

Taking it to the man

This is completely unrelated to FFXI, read on if yer interested still.

So today I decided I would finally snuggle into using Bluetooth devices. My HTC Mogul has BT and for some dumb unexplainable reason the activesync while attached to the PC using USB cord wouldn't recognize the device (this had been ongoing for months and I finally just gave up and decided to just upload anything I needed to put onto my phone onto the web and download it from the web onto my phone. A bit more work, but... it worked. Moving on.

So my keyboard of 10 years (no joke I fkn LOVE this thing.) is starting to give me problems. I honestly have no complaints. Microsoft made a fine piece of equipment here. It survived being cat-puked on not once, but TWICE and everything but an email (lolOutlook...) button works. I can't count the times I've spilled shit on it or w/e and it's still trucking after 10 years (bought it when moving away to go to college and I built my new PC.) The only complaint I could have with it (and this is being petty, really) is that the key strokes are defeaningly loud. We're talking wake people up 100 feet away from a deep sleep loud. Anyways, moving on.

So now the USB ports on it (it has two auxillary USB ports built into the board and these ports are simply amazingly handy (I have my wireless mouse adapter plugged into it and used to use the other free port to plug in flash drives before front USB ports on cases became popular. So now I'm starting to get typing errors, mostly from lag and what I like to call haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang up (it would type like that. like you held the key down even though you didn't) So after ten years I'm ready to retire this old warhorse and let it hang up it's keys and ride off into a digital sunset. Moving on.

I've also been wanting to replace my wireless mouse as the center scroll wheel is... shot. It's also falling apart (the base is loose from the top 'palm grip' section). Long story short, this happened to my LAST mouse which was ALSO a ***Kensington*** mouse. Do not buy these mice, they are SHIT. Plain and simple. I still have the old optical mouse I bought ten years back (same time as keyboard) and it works perfecrly still, I'd still be using it if not for the fact that it's not wireless. Anyways, stay far away from Kensington mice products. Moving on.

So it's 1:30am and there's ZERO electronics stores open at this time. Obviously. So my next best choice was Meijer. Kewl thing about this is now I had an excuse to go do grocery shopping and actually enjoy it. So I grabbed all my food stuffs and meander over to the Electronics department (stopping off in housewares to grab a liquid measuring cup as I've been using dry measuring cups instead since moving into the new apt and have lost the old liquid measuring cup I had. c'est la vie) and perused their *very* limited selection of wireless keyboards and mouse combos. I settle upon a Logitech set that had a fair amount of features I liked and the price was right ($49.99) and as I was leaving the aisle I come across the Bluetooth headset accessories. Now I've been "meaning to get one of those" since buying my Mogul almost a year ago so I decided, "fuck it" and bought it. It was on sale too. ($29.99 clearanced from $59.99) instantly making the price right. Moving on.

Now I had only to find a USB->Bluetooth adapter. As luck would have they sold one. Now I'm not one for buying in-house brand electronics, but it's an adapter, "who gives a shit?" right? Wrong, but we'll get to that later. Moving on.

So with a new wireless keyboard/mouse set I also needed to get rechargeable batteries. Snagged the Charger and 4 of each AA and AAA (I shoulda gotten 4 more AAA as the KB takes 3... how utterly... random...) Moving on.

So now I have a month's worth of groceries (I *reallllly* hate grocery shopping) and about $100 in electronics (I was looking over their LCD TVs but they were SICKLY overpriced.) and I checked myself out through the U-Scan and moseyed on home to play with my new toys. Moving on.

So my first obstacle: The packaging. WTF Mate?! I literally have to chainsaw through the plactic packaging that everything came packed in cause nothing had "tear me" tabs to making opening your newly purchased merchandise less of a chore than it already was. I am glad to say that I managed to open everything without cutting myself to bits. So I plugged in the battery charger first thing's first, then plugged in the USB->Bluetooth adapter and much to my chagrine it was recognized and right away 'discovered' my phone "YATTA!" So here I am thinking 'ohoho this will be simple' (this being my first endeavor with Bluetooth I figured there'd be a learning curve or something I'd have to butt heads with... how right I was, but that comes later) So now I kick back with a tasty iced cinnamon roll I had just bought and washed it down with an ice cold glass of skim milk (mmm... fat free) and proceed to try and 'establish' a data connection with my PC so I can transfer some files and also put some new tunes on the phone for mobile listening.

Here's where I ran into problems. the PC would recognize the phone and vice versa, but I couldn't make a data connection to transfer files. OK... back to the plastic packaging that the adapter came in I find this teensy-tiny piece of folded (any more folds and it woulda been categorized as origami...) that said this: "For XP SP2 users there is additional drivers you must install that can be located on our site." Simple enough and 99/100 times Drivers fix your problem. So I check the link they gave and it's a mess. The site's navigation is simply terrible. Trying to find drivers was like Fafnir up unclaimed: impossible. 30 minutes later I find a lnk in a FUCKING .PDF file and begin my download. To my dismay, upon installing the "drivers" I find out that it merely installed some form of Proprietary syncing sofware to be used with the adapter. OK... fair enough. So I look that over and it proves to be more useless than tits on a nun...

So I check the software company's site to see about getting support and find out that I need to install a file from that initial download onto my phone. Hmmm... makes sense. So I do it. And BANG! connection! but still unable to transfer data. So I check deeper into the software site and see that I am using v.2.x.x.x w/e and they're currently on v.6.4.245.0. ok... so I download the newest driver praying that this three-ringed circus would finally fucking end.

I installed the newest version and everything worked. I could see text messages, emails, contact info, songs, etc. EVERYTHING. So I go about syncing it to my PC to back everything up (I'm a back-up freak, I run 2TB in a RAID 0 config...) and I get this message window

"Hi thanks for trying our product, we hope it works to your satisfaction, but sadly we have limited the services available in the trial version and in order to fully experience the $20.00 adapter's potential you'll need to buy a $20.00 license to use this software."

At this point, it's on, and I am talking ON LIKE MOTHER FUCKING DONKEY KONG. These UK assholes have wasted 2 hours of my life AFTER taking $20 from me for something that prolly cost them $.0050 to make in a chinese sweatshop and NOW THEY WANT TO WEASLE ***ANOTHER*** $20 out of me. Well no thank you, sir. I've played your game, tried to be nice and work things out, but you just wanted to be a greedy fuckface. So I got something for you, something that took me all of FIVE MINUTES to find and less than that to download:

in the words of Al Pacino ala Heat "DON'T WASTE MY MOTHERFUCKING TIME!!!"

Fuck you and the almighty horse that you rode in on you pinko commie pricks. Next time CHARGE $40 if you want to make $40. Don't dick me around to the point that if I weren't the savvy internet e-thug priate that I am, that I'd give in to your terrorist demands and fork over another $20. Drown in a pool of AIDS you assclowns.

Anyways, moving on.

I managed to also somehow fix the USB activesync on my Mogul so that was a hidden plus in this heaping steaming pile of shit night. Just waiting on my Bluetooth headset to charge and then we'll give that a go. I can't wait... /rollingeyes would be appropriate here.

UPDATE: Everything works. It's 7:17am EST I need sleep. My new ringtone is now from MGS with the Comm *ring**ring* and General saying, 'Snake? SNAKE?!?! SNAAAAAAKE!!!!!!"

So lately I've been running across NMs just sitting up and unattended that, normally, wouldn't be. Think it's kinda kewl that the game has spaced itself out enough with all sorts of content that NMs can pop unclaimed (regardless of their value/rarity) and roam around a while for some adventuring soul to run across and kill. I think that was SE's original intent, it just never worked out that way.

So on my way to Gustav to camp/pop Goblinsaviour Heronox some more (0/3 and I gave up) I ran into this guy at the cave entrance.

meh 10K drop.

So I geared up RDM for the last time and went off to fight Maat. Now, I've seen and been told many times that at 75 all I'd have to do is walk in, Chainspell, and nuke him into the ground. But being as I'm ALWAYS hella nervous about fighting Maat (I blame it on when I had to fight him for 70 cap on DRK and lost horribly my first time through.) and losing and having to spend more time farming a testimony, I erred on the side of caution and did the sleep >>> nuke >>> sleep >>> nuke strat and it went off flawlessly without a single resist.

So with that done and out of the way I geared up my 39 WAR to begin down the trek of Maatdom with it. I've been uber geeked about playing WAR. I purposely leveled WHM BST and RDM before leveling WAR so I would have something to look forward to while I leveled jobs I had no ... interest in (although WHM was ok, but RDM... was a pain and stressful at times..)

yay... subligar.

Anyways, I got into a PT that got me from 39-41 but was so horrible and shitty that I couldn't stay any longer and left. The following day I flagged up and got an invite to go to a camp I freaking LOVE. Quite simply the best non-merit exp camp in the game. No competition/argument allowed on the matter as it's simply unbeatable.

yeah that's chain 17 at level 41 for 177 exp O.o

so in 6 hours of PTing there my WAR rocketed from 41-55. O.O!!!!! hotness.

So now I was in range of being able to quest AF and decided to quest my last AF set. Kinda sad really =/

For an AF2 NM this thing had RIDICULOUS DEF.... absolutely INSANE. I was hitting for 30-40 dmg a swing and it took almost 5 minutes of just beating the tar outta him for him to go down O.o

Now the other stupid thing about WAR AF is the wait period between quests. The AF Weapon had a 1 Vanaday wait, the AF2 Feet same thing, and the AF3 has a JP Midnight wait... Seems like SAM AF alllll over again. Completely dumb to drag something like that out like they did.

Moving on.

So another Great Axe that came highly recommended was Demon's Axe which drops from an NM in Zvahl Bailey's Keep which only has a 2 hour repop. So I went out to camp him and luckily he popped after the first placeholder set was killed. Sadly no drop, BUT I was delighted to see I obtained a new title (I am a title WHORE. If it gives a titles I want it.)

So today I come back to Castle Zvahl Bailey's to farm a coffer key for WAR and lo and behold I see another NM

Knew there were NMs on the lower floor and they had a 21-24 hour timer, but have NEVER EVER seen them up. EVER.

but wait... There's more.

but wait... there's... more...

but... uh... wait... there's... err... more....?

So not 1 or 2 or 3, but ALL FOUR NMs were up. YATTA!

Being as Wiki lists them as lvl 76 NMs I decided to play it safe and ask friends to come join in on the fun and adventure (and get a co-starring role in my LJ =D I think that's the real reason why they came lol)

Thanks to Jdjacker and Chiyavna and Phoenise (she came for Marquis Allocen and left for Besieged) for coming out and making a remarkable New Year's Eve. What a great way to start the New Year.
Normally I don't single out an entire LS based upon the actions of a few of its members, but it's happened so much with so many different members that I can't help but think it's an LS thing.

It takes a lot of balls/gall to bring yourself to either solo or lead a PT with 4 Hildegarde members to camp on another exp PT. Whether it's the army of BSTs in their LS or just a normal PT they've done this to parties I have been in a number of times, so I'm calling them out.

Maybe it's a French thing? I wouldn't know as I'm completely turned off by anything to do with that sector of Europe (mostly due to the inherent reputation that it's inhabitants have earned.) But seriously, I'm ready to tag each and every member and camp their shit "skilling up" my katanas. I'm an eye-for-an-eye kinda guy and I have no problem wasting time fucking with people who fuck with me.

So with all due respect, Hildegarde, stop being fucking morons.

Level 75 #12

Exp went kinda crazy on this from about level 69. Everyday since then I gained a level or more. Mostly from... poorly assembled PTs too =/ I've always worried about how I would fare as being a RDM and being main heal/support for a PT. Well I had a good number of those PTs and I'd like to report that I did better than I had expected. My final PT that took me from 500 into 74 to 5000 into 75 was a BLM burn in Mt. Z and that was VERY awesome. 12K/hour and I barely had to break a sweat. It was a nice break from the hectic Refresh haste cure PTs that I've been in lately.

I wanted to touch on something here cause I ran into this while on my SMN and I mentioned it on this LJ before, but this bears repeating. If you are a RDM that doesn't want to main heal your exp PT then YOU SHOULDN'T BE PLAYING RED MAGE! Seriously...

So over the holidays Arisen's Limbus group has been on a break of sorts with people spending time with friends and family. So Tigg Turin Phoeniixx and I went and 4-manned an Apollyon tower (our first time doing with so few without Manaburning NW) We full cleared the SW (weapon resistances) tower and completed the Omega set that Sukie was holding. Was pretty fun and given how our group normally steam rolls Apollyon I had no doubts we could pull it off.

BRD exp last weekend wasn't stellar, but we did manage to get to 50 and we allllll know what that means! AF TIME!!! I seriously love questing AF and as I slowly work my way towards Maat's Cap I've come to the realization, that I have only 2 sets to quest (BRD and WAR) and that's kinda sad cause they usually have good back stories and are somewhat entertaining to do. I had already popped all three coffers and quested the AF2 piece from The Eldieme Necropolis so all I had left to do was kill an NM in Monastic Cavern.

Was an easy fight, but the best part about it was that I had to clear the orcs in the room so I could fight this guy and one of the orcs happened to be the Orcish Warlord lolNM and he just so happened to be awesome enough to drop a nice little surprise (that I never even knew he dropped so I wasn't expecting it at all when it droppedO.o)

Yatta! I needed that scroll too as I considered paying 80K for such a worthless scroll to be absurd. So getting it free I condoned finally having/using it.

So this weekend's static was a MUCH different story. We couldn't find any tanks our level and any that were close wanted ToAU areas only (I don't blame them) . So I decided we would go back to East Ronfaure [s] and sync down to 38 and fight the colibis there to get us to a suitable level to exp in ToAU areas next weekend. It worked out beautifully and we were averaging about 10K/hour which is INSANE preToAU. Was a lot of fun to get 51-53 knocked out in once go.

So now with RDM wrapping up (need to cap buffer exp (might just go 20K and call it a day) and fight maat) I've been looking at things to get for WAR and one item was highly recommended and seemed fun to go after. Eisentanzer (or something like that) the Great Axe dropped from a goblin NM in Gustav Tunnel. So I camped him last night for about 3 hours (as I was burned out from exping and Salvage was in 3.5 hours) and he finally popped, but no drop.

I've seen this NM up before while leveling in Gustav Tunnel a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong time back (at least 3 years now) and have never been able to fight him.

While looking through a bazaar in North Sandy I noticed that their bazaar comment mentioned they do commissioned chibi artwork in exchange for gil in game. I thought this to be extremely intriguing as it would make an awesome gift for Tigg for Christmas. So I contacted the player through email and sent him several drawings and .dat files (via AltanaViewer) so he could come up with something for me to give her. I wasn't expecting anything stellar or impressive, but something cute and from the heart more or less. What I was given completely blew me away. It was GORGEOUS!!

this is merely a sample size that I watermarked to deter others from ganking ;)

It was worth every bit of gil that we had agreed upon and I gave him a 25% tip for making it so incredible. If anyone is interested in having something like this done I can hook you up with in game contact info and you two can go from there.

And that about wraps up this week, so I'll leave you all with some fun screenshots as usual.

been trying to get this kill for 3 years now and have come close on many occasions but she's rather wiley. Her number was finally up though lol

and finally.

apparently we only do Dynamis. el oh el...
So after hunkering down and deciding to finally finish this piece, I've spent the better part of the last three weeks making gil. All the hard work paid off in the end of course.

I kinda miss the look of the Oracle's Robe I'd been using of late (been really on this M.ACC kick lately. It's shown some decent steady numbers as a result, but nothing truly stellar.) Oh well. I've had the pieces for close to a month now and it was finally time I upgraded it and I didn't have to sell off any old equipment to do so (well besides a Weskit...)

RDM has been coming along nicely and is currently resting on it's laurels at 71 now awaiting Monday (as my weekends are ridiculously packed) for me to get it to 75 (I anticipate 75 Thursday or Friday. =) and I will have something else to lot in Beaucedine as I've gotten 13 other pieces from that zone (lol) with the PLD legs that dropped tonight =D

BRD static this weekend was a bit disappointing as we only managed to get about 8K exp over a 3 hour period due to tanks DCing and poor reps choices being made, but I did get to lvl 50 1k tnl 51. So you know what that means? BRD AF TIME!!! yay! So I lucked out and had all 3 coffer keys necessary and the quests were insanely easy. I'm waiting right now for JP midnight to be able to finish the AF3. That'll make my 14th complete AF set.

Decent amount of progression this weekend =D
so it's been a busy week.

Of biggest note (as it's most recent) are these:

I'll be picking those up in 6.5 hours =D 4/5 Usu on the 1 year anniversary of joining RemnantKnights. Thank you everyone!

Another big feather in the hat would be the completion of BST (for now). I finished leveling on bombs in Uleguerand Range at 60 and went to Caedarva Mire outside of Nashmau's west exit to duo with Chadamius. To say the exp was... incredible would be a gross understatement. We were averaging about 7K/hour instead of the usual 4K in Conquest areas. It was sick. We made it to 63 and Chadamius left and I continued on to 65 over the course of the following day. I then changed camp to Wajaom Woodlands and AGAIN the solo exp was out of this world. nearly 5K/hour solo when I was averaging 2.5-3K/hour in conquest zones. I quickly dinged 66 and got 5K buffer into level.

I decided it was time to take on Maat and read up on the necessary info and guides on Wiki (VERY good guide on there.) I grabbed my prefarmed BST testimony and traversed throught Palborough Mines into the Waughroon Shrine to face the old man for the 12th time. Now being my first Maat fight at 66 (even when I fought him on DRK for the first time I was 70) I was a bit... nervous to say the least. Following the wiki strategy to the 't' I entered naked, slept TP to 87 (forgot to equip weapon till almost halfway through the first sleep pot... /nervous...) used an RR earring, ate sushi, called Life Drinker Lars (lol I LOV E that name) and Sic-ed him on Maat while I took out his Mandy pet. The pet went down without a problem and I held off from Rampaging it in the hopes of Rampaging Maat later on. I rewarded Lars and Hi-Potion-ed back to full HP. Maat called a second pet >.<! and I decided to Rampage that as Lars was almost dead. I used an I.wing and Rampaged Maat and he gave up. The fight was incredibly easy. I actually made it harder than it had to be by being overcautious and storing TP on his first pet. In all I was happy to just get the win.

So I've hung up my pet jugs and Beast Helm for now. I was having a lot of fun while leveling it in the ToAU areas (faster exp tends to make things more fun for me... >.>) but I've spent a LOT more time on BST than I had originally planned and taking it to 75 would prolly take another month in the least. I've decided to take up RDM next, saving WAR for last (BRD being staticed atm).

SML entered Dynamis Tavnazia last Saturday and it was my first adventure in there and tbh I was a bit ... disappointed. It was quite as epic as I had thought it would be and that was prolly due in part to how small and cramped the zone is. No running halfway across the zone to kill NMs to make megaboss weaker, etc. Just farming, which was rather boring. Drops were EXTREMELY 'meh' too. Only excitement of the night came from a double -1 drop from Bees.

So the Fish Ranking Contest in Selbina restarted again, this time asking for the largest Armored Pisces. So I trekked down to Oldton once more and spent about 18 hours fishing on and off trying to get a heavy winner. I ended up walking away with a skill up =D

Saturday seen SWL going after Gurfurlur once more to get the last remaining people their titles.

and Sunday Arisen's Limbus group took down Ultima with only 9 members in a somewhat epic fight. We had Phoeniixx on NIN/DRK to backup Turin on his PLD/NIN. Turin is usually a beast of a tank. He eats Citadel Busters and shit faerie dust in it's aftermath, but oddly enough this run he was eating 1700 dmg CBs and we couldn't figure out why till the end... Light Obi for the loss. So we all had a good laugh with that. Now the hero of the run would be Chadamius who valiantly took hate from Phoeniixx for a CB (sparing her from dying so she could tank while Turin was resting weakness.) and would you believe he took a whopping 178 dmg from CB??? Never ever seen that before. So we managed to take Ultima down in epic fashion with everyone working as a close knit team and we were rewarded with Feet and greatly anticipated legs.

and I leave you all with another "oops" /t

NMs popping outta the woodworks

So continuing with my previous (large) update that included two NMs I ran into while on BST, here are some more I encountered today O.O!

SML decided to raid Castle O [s] to get another pop set for that SCNM.

and I snapped this one just as he owned my face with some TP move that ignores shadows and does 700+ dmg. FKR...

So lately I've been neglecting exping on my NIN to maintain a healthy buffer (20K+ for me) due to zerging towards Maat's Cap. NIN Buffer has recently fallen to 13K and I decided to go to Kuftal Tunnel and camp an NM that I've camped before, popped once, but never killed. All the place holders and gobs in the camp con DC so I was getting 80-90 exp a kill. Over the course of 4 hours I earned 5K exp (I only killed PH and mobs in camp, I didn't actively go out of my way to exp.) and watched Terminator 2-3. Knowing his timer is 2-8+ hours I had decided to do one last pop round and then call it a night due to having an exp static on my BRD with Tigg at 10am EST (as I write this it is 6:30am EST... fux...) lol and behold he pops O.O! Knowing full well I can't solo him on NIN I browse the /flist and Riglacaud is on and he agrees to come help on his naked 450mp WHM lol

To say the fight was epic would be an understatement due to the fact that I completely NUBBED and Mijined while fighting one of the gobs in camp (figured we'd spend the 3 minutes and clear the other gobs to ensure a clean pull and easier/stressless fight) luckily I had reraise up amd got the gob off of Rig and proceeded to tank it weakened while Rig rested MP (he rushed out with no HMP gear) so the Alchemist (WHM) decides to spam Diaga. So no resting was possible (with no MP for Stoneskin and the camp is tight so he couldn't get away from it.) Thankfully it only used Bomb Toss once and Goblin Rush once. But the piece of shit used Cure V FIVE FUCKING TIMES /fume... We both survived with red HP (weakness wore during the fight....) and no MP.

With the shananigans out of the way I managed to pull the rest of the gobs in camp with no problem and we prepped for the NM.

Fight was stupid easy and with two flashes to save my ass post Goblin Rush we took him down without any issues.

1/1 O.O!

now to sleep and wake up in 3.5 hours... fux...

Oh and about BST: it's lvl 61, almost there. I spent the entire last two days playing with bombs for incredibly easy and pretty fast exp (when the bombs cooperated...)

It looks something like this:

when they don't cooperate sometimes you just gotta smack em around...

but when they DO actually cooperate it looks something majestic like this:

Rinse and repeat this for about 8 hours

and BST is a snap. only problem is that you can't always fight bombs... then BST goes back to sucking. Hard. Alot. Really.
BSTly!

So my in game life has revolved around lvling BST the last 2 weeks... It's been a slow, pains-taking, and arduous... task. >.>;

Zerged it to 59 the last 6 days from 50 and it's been... interesting to say the least. I'm certainly testing my limits as far as how much agony and suffering I can take while leveling this job. Luckily Chadamius offered to sync with me on his BST and SMN and we've duoed many of those levels on bomb in Garlaige Citadel.

On my way out (forgot Warp scroll >.<!!!) I ran an oversized bat that had an odd name.

woo hoo! soloed my first NM on BST. It only took 37 Citadel Bats...

Then while rounding a corner heading towards the first gate (thinking it can be opened from the other side... wrong!) I see a Cockatrice. What the hell???!?!?

Sadly he's slightly more... evasive than Old Two-wings. So I ended up running out of bats to throw at him and took some dmg and was chased out GC barely surviving. Came back on my NIN (I actually Chocobo'ed from outside GC to port jeuno, changed to BLM, Retraced, changed to NIN in S.Sandy [s], warped to Sauraumogue, ran through GC[s], went through maw, re-entered GC and NM was STILL up and untouched.) and was surprised to see it was still up.

So I lucked out and found BOTH GC NMs up and running around. Pretty fun. Got a new title outta the deal as well =D

SWL continued with taking down the ToAU Kings and refought Medusa for those that missed the title the last time around.

Troll will be next and then I will finally be able to turn in the 14.5K Alexandrites and sword in.

Turin Chiyavna and I have been staticing Sheep in Antlion's Clothing ENM on Fridays after Salvage. Our third run finally paid out =D

And rounding out the week is a 5.5K damage Skillchain in Salvage.

Lastly, I tend to go for killshots with Mijin Gakure and this is a rather shining one ^^

O.O! We found the Thief who stole Macha's Coat

Anyways, this is more of a post for Tiggerette than anyone else. She's had this item on her priority list now for 11 months. She's watched as 40+ other 35's dropped (some she snagged, but none carried the importance of this item.) and she rarely complained or pouted about it's lack of ... existance (like so many others I've read about...) So finally seeing this piece drop was a huge victory for, not only her, but the Salvage static as we've all been wanting to see her achieve this milestone. She went and farmed/bought all of the ingots about 7 months back in anticipation of getting the drop and it's just been stingy.

to add to that excitement, though, we seen a second Macha's Coat drop that run O.O!!! and I was told anyone interested could lot. Apparently I was VERY interested.

So now... I need to go and buy 12 ingots. Yay for the money from the -1 Berk I crafted lasted week. A big thank you to Gerfeliz from Phoenix for server hopping and picking it up. Enjoy!

Beastmaster....

Fuck this job. Seriously. in the ass.

I've burned through 32 charges on 4 RR earrings in the last week alone and I've only just managed to break lvl 53. Some parts of it was fun (Rolanberry [s] yo!) and other parts can suck goat dick (SSG that'd be you...)

I broke away from the exp zerg to carry on the tradition of questing the entire AF set for BST. The coffer keys were relatively easy to farm (aside from Beadeaux and Sapphire Quads who spam StonegaIII... drown in a pool of AIDS)

The kewl thing about BST though is that you run across a buncha NMs.

and after waiting for the results for 2 weeks, my first ever Fish Ranking Contest I landed a 9th rank fish, new title, and a Pelican Ring.

and if that wasn't enough showing off, here's a parting E-peen moment for me.

Took me a little longer than I expected. I picked up WHM from where I had left it at 42 (yay 'now-worthless' teleports) and spent the last 3 weeks pursuing my 11th lvl 75 job. It's kinda intense thinking about that. I remember back in the day when someone would have 2 75's and you'd be thinking "OMG wow! you are insane!". Now having 3-5 75 jobs is passé. But to be able to lay claim to 11, it's kind of a shock to even me. Anyways, thanks in great part to the Level Sync system I managed a lil over 400K exp on WHM in 4 weeks. Not entirely bad.

I'm glad to have leveled this job, though. Not for the reasons of it's usefullness for events/etc. but now I can honestly see this job through the eyes of those who were in my PTs on other jobs. Sure I wasn't the greatest WHM ever and prolly missed a Haste cycle here and there, but I still managed to give each and every melee (even PLDs when I had some form of refresh ^^;) some Haste lovin'. I also discovered the merit in using Regen (II+ especially) over using cure spells. Assisting the tanks with Flash was another simple pleasure that I know many WHMs overlook. I'd have to say I did a damn decent job (when I was coherent... as it stands I am on 3 hours' sleep in the last 42 hours simply because I wanted to finish WHM)

So here's to all of you skilled WHMs out there. I never said your job was easy, but now I know for a fact it's not. To all you shitty CureIV WHMs out there. I can say without any doubt now, that you're dumb.

read about this trick where you can Repose Maat and simply wait out the win. No need to cure yourself or fight him. By and far the EASIEST Maat fight of the 11 I have done.

Wtf...

I've been zerging jobs to 75 lately (DRG being the latest in the last 6 of my jobs needed to reach Maat's Cap and WHM is soon to be the 11th in that line sitting at 69 currently.) and I keep running into ... ... retardedly mindset players (for lack of a better word).

I remember leveling SAM and thinking "wow this dmg is AWESOME and I can blink tank any hate I get off of the PLD with Seigan and Third Eye" So as I am curing this PT in Mt. Z while fighting crawlers I happen across this SAM, who like me, like to do A LOT of dmg and basically tank the mob for the last 50% of its health. Sadly, though, he REFUSED to use Seigan! WTF!??? Hasso and Seigan share a 30 second timer and you're gonna be butt hurt when you have to use Seigan to save your ass? DONT FKN PLAY SAM THEN you dumb shit.

And it's not just that one SAM. There's a buncha them now... Fine tank it to death (your death you douchebag.)

Also I'm seeing more and more now with level sync, NINs who Ni tank only. When the fk was that ever ok??? I don't give a rat's ass if your timer only has 6 seconds till next Ni, I don't feel like cure V-ing you every 4 shadows. Plain and simple. I'll RegenIII you, but I won't cure you if you're that damn lazy/unskilled. And to the NINs who WAIT till their shadows are DOWN to cast Ichi, you're no better than the Ni tank. You basically bleed me of MP till 1 of 4 things happen: 1) You get lucky with para proc/eva/parry/timing and get Utsu up 2) you cast Ichi unsuccessfully till Ni is up and then cast Ni 3) you die from all the dmg you're taking 4) I run out of MP and then you die from all the dmg you're taking.

Next is the /backup onry RDMs. You know who you are. You're the RDM who refuses to be main heal as a rep. You'd rather just dick around with shitty worthless enfeebles (when's the last time anyone noticed a significant difference on an IT mob with Blind?) throw the occasional refresh on yourself and the WHM/SMN/otherRDMwhodoesntsuck/SCH/BLM who's curing your PT and doing your job for you. I can not wait to get to level RDM. I'm bored outta my mind with WHM cause it's Hastex4, regen tank, cure minimal dmg, rest, repeat.

Anyways, those are the three big complaints... other complaints could arise from DRKs who're level 64 but STILL DO NOT HAVE GUILLOTINE. GET A FUCKING SKILL UP PARTY! Or the MNK who subs WAR and tanks half the fight... GG douchebag. I could uppercut a dolphin when I see that...

So... now that that is out of my system...

It's been a busy last 2 months for me. Most of my time being spent on leveling jobs towards completing the Maat's Cap quest (and yes I know I only need them to be at lvl 66, but I plan to have them all 75 anyways, so why not push them that last bit while they're fresh in my skill pallette and I have the gear on me?) With only need WHM WAR RDM BRD and BST (/cringe) to go I'm pretty set to zerg 4/5 of those and then coast to 66 with BST as I HATED it up to 38 (where it's currently at) and I am likely to HATE it all the way to 66. Only time will tell.

One of my more proud moments was when I registered on FFXIAH.com to play around in the Achievement Point rankings (that I never knew about O.o) and to my great surprise I flew in under the radar to be #7 on the server. Wow. I wasn't expecting top 50, but top 10 sorta blew me away. So now it's something I'll prolly play with a bit (might actually finish fishing to 100...). Although I am sure once I bounce a Maat's Cap on there I should be sitting in the top 3 if not at #1 O.O!! Who knows?

I've also recently been enjoying Dynamis again once a week with SML since SE patched the entrance fee and made it 500K. I've been enjoying it for 2 reasons: 1) SML goes in with 25 people tops for almost every zone. "Low-manning" dynamis successfully was simply unheard of for me. I was used to taking in 40 noobs, watching us all wipe to a bad pull and just deal with it. Wipes almost NEVER happen with SML. Something I'm proud of. and 2) I've walked away with an astounding 10 pieces of gear in 5 runs. Again something I'm not used to. Most all of it was freelot and most of that even was uncontested freelot (lolTHF legs and lolDRG Body) A lot of that because SML doesn't have a "revolving door" membership. Finally completed my MNK set (4 sets now =D) and scored a very lucky Valor Body in the process.

Einherjar's been relatively... interesting. We've been getting some rather "mean" T3 chambers (Flans and Flayers with KB boss... wtf...) but Odin has put out TWO E.Bodies in the last TWO fights. Something we hadn't seen in the previous FIVE battles against him. So... w/e. Still waiting on mine ;) I almost have 90K Ampoules as well which is exciting being as I am hauling ass towards becoming one of the first people with a Mythic Weapon.

That brings me to Nyzul Isle assaults and my Mythic Weapon adventures. I finally picked up my Brave Blade (and still waiting to unlock it /sigh Maat's Cap leaves no room for anything else to be accomplished...) and over the last 2 months have scoured bazaars and shouts for Alexandrites and am comfortably sitting on 9137 Alexandrites O.O!! of course I am sitting comfortably because of my wallet not being quite as full as it used to be. lol. I had to create a brand new mule and unlock ToAU access and max his mog and inventory space to hold all of the Alex. Oddly enough his name is Alexander xD. SWL (Einherjar shell) has been working on getting the ToAU King Titles and we've down Gulool and Medusa. Which leaves me 1 titles shy of being able to turn allll of that stuff in and begin the upgrade on Brave Blade. I've also got 40K Nyzul tokens. As far as Nyzul goes we have had some outstanding luck as of late. Clearing both floor 80 and floor 100 drops for everyone in less than 3 weeks' time. We've decided to go back and farm one last disc back to 100 for others in the group who want to break new WS latents. Along the way we're stopping at 20 to farm the last set of items and then onward to 100 and then back to 40 and 60 to farm last bit of items needed. So things are looking VERY good on that front right now and I foresee us being done in a few months which will free up A LOT of time and 3 tags a week (which would be used towards completing the "redo assaults" requirement for the Nyzul relic.

SML picked up a Simurgh a week back and this is only in here as it's the first time I've ever fought him. Yay! new title.

Other than that it's just been WHM exp solid for the last 3 weeks. It's been a quick ride (almost NEVER wait for invite) but it's been tedious and I can't say it's been fun.

I did get a chance to play around with the new Halloween event and pick up the new +1 cloak and also quested the old items from previous years (Coven Hat) so I could purchase the Nation's lanterns for my MH.

Tigg Pooh and I have gotten together again to static another set of jobs on Saturday mornings. This time I am the forlorn BRD >.>; Tigg makes a fierce SAM and Pooh does his usual tanking and healing on DNC. I honestly can't complain with this setup as we've had lots of luck finding healers and tanks and I've enjoyed being the token BRD. lol Currently sitting in between lvl 36 and 37.

And one more pic I thought was rather fitting only due to the epic nature of the poses.

was snapped while questing WHM AF weapon 3 weeks back.

this just in:

found this in a random screenshot I took during a dynamis (to show 4 AF items in loot pool in Xarc =D)
